Hello,
Is there anyway to provide access to an user to use SCP or SFTP who actually does have secure korn shell (Rsh)?

Thanks

I'm not sure about that but as far as i know, you can't do scp or sftp without using ssh!

Regards,
Khalid

Hi

Rsh is a restricted version of Bourne Shell that provides no encription at all. By installing OpenSSH you are provinding your communications with a layer of security. By default you will have a ssh client that let you open remote consoles using already created users in the UNIX systems. Once the connection is done the user's profile sets the shell variable, in your case you will end up using Rsh shell. You have to provide the corrcet enviroment for running ssh programs by setting the PATH variable if needed.

Once you have setup ssh you can use the scp and sftp programs without problems.

Hope this helps
