Dear all can you help?
I have just removed a desktop machine from domain A to domain B. when the existing user logs on to the machine for the 1st time (in the new domain) they get the log on script OK but as the icons are added to the desktop, or run, they come up with an error box asking for the local machine username and password for the c$ i.e. \\machinename\c$ username and password. Have looked at the c$ file permissions and all seems to be fine have totally deleted all local profiles for that user and still get the same response

Admin can log onto machine fine.

Any suggestion would be helpful Ta

Try looking in the registry for "Persistant connections" and delete that reference
