When I create my own catalog , when I logged in the catalog the user class in disabled and by default it takes the user class as creator.

I also cannot create new user classes.

hi

goto Catalog > User Profile > User Classes and select Creator and click add.

But I am wondering is there any way to import the user classes from Access manager.

regards,
Sudhi

Hi Vidhya,

Any luck with u????

I updated the catalog Properties and entered the Access Manager Namespace. Now I am getting an error message when I try to connect to the catalog as "The catalog's available user classes do not correspond to any defined by the Common Logons Server"

where I am now?!?!?!!!

regards,
Sudhi

Sudhi did you find a way to import the user classes from Access manager if so please explain.

Thank You

as for as i understood, there is no way of importing the userclass from AM to catalog. have to add manually (means have to update for every changes in the AM).

sudhi

Hi,

You can write a macro that synchronize the userprofiles in the catalog with the userclasses in access manager.

I think i saw sample in the knowledgebase of cognos

cheers,

As no-one has posted a solution to the "The catalog's available user classes do not correspond to any defined by the Common Logon Server" issue, I will.

Just add the 'Creator' user class to the namespace that is used for autentication.
Be carefull, localized versions of Impromptu might have a different name for 'Creator' (i.e. in German it's 'Ersteller' etc.).
Problem solved.
