The setup: Our domain is running in mixed mode with W2k DCs and NT4 DCs

The problem: I have a user that cannot log onto the domain from a specific machine, but can log on from other machines. Other users can log on to the domain from that machine. I already verified that the user with the problem has rights to log on from any machine.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Sounds to me like its a firewall or your lan settings on that workstation ..Double check your tcp/ip settings ..

Depends on the error. Every once in a while we'll get that problem with an error message along the lines of "Profile couldn't be loaded". Usually it's just a corrupt user profile on the machine in question. If you log in as an admin you can delete their user profile directory and they can log in and create a new profile.

The profile directory on Win2K and XP is:
C:\documents and settings\USERNAME

On WinNT it is:
C:\winnt\profiles\USERNAME

when the user logs on, it says

The system could not log you on. Make sure user name and domain are correct, then type your password again.

I know its not an incorrectly typed password, thats causing it. I'll try deleting the profile, thanks for the suggestion
