Could anyone tell me why on some PC's you go in control panel and click on User Accounts you get different views?

On some PCs you get a different view than on others, some just look like a screen where you can assign pictures to certain users and others look more like user manager and you can add them to certain domains and the like.

Why are the screens different and how can you change between the views?

Thanks in advance

Perhaps they are not all Windows XP machines?

In anycase on xp to see the old style click on start > Run > Type control userpasswords2 > Click Ok

Also, it could be the differences in how each machine is setup - what menu style, etc.

Yes all the machines are XP. The "old style" is the style that I am talking about, but why is this the style on some machines and not on others? and how do you change this back to the "new style"?

Thanks

Right-click on My computer, choose properties, advanced tab, performance button, and there you can check the box "for best performance", and it will do the old style.

Another way (I believe) would be to right-click on the desktop, and choose properties, appearance tab, and select Windows Classic or Classic style, something like that from the scheme list.

I have tried that and it does not work (either of them ways)???

If the pc is part of a domain - you dont have all the bells and whistles of a machine that is part of a workgroup; i.e. assigning pictures, etc....
