Hi All,

I have just purchased a VPS running Windows 2008 R2 Web. I have 2 IP addresses with the server, I want to use the primary for web traffic (the server is going to host one website) and I want to restrict RDP traffic to the second IP address. Can anyone set me on the right course to do this?

Ive been doing a bit of searching but have only been able to find ways of restricting incoming trafiic to a specific client IP address.

Thanks

Rick

You can use the built-in Windows firewall to block traffic on a per interface basis (ie allowing RDP traffic on the one and web traffic on the other)

One other suggestion: if your server is Internet-facing you will want to change the port that RDP listens on to something different than the default port 3389.

Thanks for the replies.

kmcferrin - good point, I will change the port.

itsp1965 - thats what I was hoping, I'm just not sure how to go about it, by interface do you mean network connection?
