Use of the term ACCENT in Publisher 2003

Apologies if this is stupid question. Can anyone tell me what exactly is meant by the word ACCENT in the context of Publisher 2003's Colour and Font Schemes.

They are talking about accent colors. Not the "main" color. If you try editing a color scheme, you'll see the accent colors. Change one and see what object changes color in your design.

Because it "is" an accent color - meaning it's not the main color used. Generally it's sparingly used, generally to help something else stand out.
