Is it Possible to use SQL qerry in MS-Excel?Else, How can I extract desired data from a detailed Worksheet for a given criteria?
 
Hi, I have just posted a thread regarding SQL queries in Excel using SQL.REQUEST a kind of pass through query - what is your data source?
 
All my data source are in excel. I want to extract data against a text field using desired criteria e.g."name" etc.Can you help me out?
 
An alternate,....

from the menu choose Data>Get eternal data>newdatabase query>...then select Excel files from the list, follow the wizard from there....


after your data is returned to excel ....you can right click in the data area of the sheet to edit, set properties, such as auto fill fomulas, refresh on open etc...

if you edit...using the Ms query option, you can set critera
from the "view" menu in the msquery editor, then enter a criteria for any field in the database/excel sheet
