Use of External DVD-R/RW Norton Ghost v8 while In Ghost.EXE

I was wondering if anyone out there has had experience with using Norton Ghost with an external USB DVD-R/RW while booting up to Ghost.EXE and spanning images to DVD-R/RW? I don't have a DVD-R/RW just yet, but I was also wondering if Ghost will be able to see an external USB DVD-R/RW.

You also need to have USB2.0 on your PC for ghost to see it. I've tried this countless times with all different kinds of bootalbe floppy disks created thru ghost and have had no luck
