The rules are you must form a sentence using the the word given by the previous post as well as providing a word for the next poster to use. We'll call it a vocabulary excersize.

Lets start with the word 'crepuscular'.

[thumbsup2] Wow, I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.
I think I've forgotten this before.

My crepuscular-witted friend was looking for bats at noon [wink]

New word: vicissity

Cheers,

Roel

The vicissitudes of daily life make finding a proper definiton of vicissity difficult.

New word: odious

New word: vicissity

Was this misspelled? Can't seem to find an English definition.

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
Mark Twain

I find this game odius in the extreme.

New word: Serendipitous

Fee

The question should be [red]Is it worth trying to do?[/red] not [blue] Can it be done?[/blue]

The choice of the word "Vicissity" was an odious attempt to trip up the next poster.

New word: rancor

The rancor exhibited by both parties for the other is why voters hate politics.

Next word: promontory

What serendipitous rancor is achieved when two posts occur at the same time!

New word: Floccinaucinihilipilification

< M!ke >
[small]I can say nothing, which is cowardly, I can lie, which is immoral, or I can tell the truth, which will upset people. - Tiki Barber[/small]

Luke Skywalker totally kicked the racor's butt. [wink]

New word: eleemosynary

[tt]_____
[blue]-John[/blue][/tt]
[tab][red]The plural of anecdote is not data[/red]

I was a little slow on the draw that time....

Catching us up, then:

We had a clear view of the city from the promontory.

I consider the hoopla about "Floccinaucinihilipilification" being the longest non-technical word to be Floccinaucinihilipilifitory.

New word is still eleemosynary

[tt]_____
[blue]-John[/blue][/tt]
[tab][red]The plural of anecdote is not data[/red]

During the holidays, eleemosynary organizations are in particular need of our charitable contributions.

New word: coruscative

Not knowing the root of the word 'coruscative' I tried a google. Their suggestion was 'coruscant', which resulted in the second reference to Star Wars reference resulting from this thread.

circumlocution

[thumbsup2] Wow, I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.
I think I've forgotten this before.

Now I got it Dave.

The Tek-Tips logo would be more appealing to me with a coruscating eye.

Still:

circumlocution

I think it showed great vicissity for Santa to suggest a word as cromulent as "coruscative".

Now, as for the other word, you know, the word put forth by MrMilson, well that's a whole nuther matter altogether.

That guy is so loquacious. He just yammers on and on and on and on endlessly about something that could much more efficiently be described and/or defined in far fewer words, which would save time on the part of all interlocutors. Yet he uses far too many words anyway. I think his circumlocution stems from his bombastic nature. If only he understood that his loquacity actually made him seem like a popinjay.

New word: haberdashery

[blue]-John[/blue][/tt]

Remind me not to throw John another soft pitch anytime soon. [rofl]

I saved up enough money to purchase a silk tie from D. Grant, Ltd. Salt Lake City's finest haberdashery.

New word: epicaricacy

While I occasionally experience schadenfreude, usually related to coworkers' misfortunes, I didn't realize that epicaricacy was the same feeling. [smile]

Sorry - forgot to add the new word: logorrhea

Greg

Does Eva Longoria's logorrhea equate to verbal diarrhea?

New word: phrontistery

< M!ke >
[small]"Oops" is never a good thing.[/small]

My favourite phrontistery is in a hammock, under the shady fronds of a palm tree, with a tall glass of ice water, and plenty of band width.

New word: obambulate <grin>
