use Groove with SharePoint instead of upgrading bandwidth

We're thinking of installing SharePoint server 2007.
However, the likelihood is that this will have to go along with massive bandwidth upgrades.

Is the Groove product from Microsoft aimed at this at all?
I suspect we'll have to upgrade bandwidth anyway but just thought I'd see...

Hello,

With the current version of Groove there are not that much integration with SharePoint (hopefully the next version will have a tighter integration). What you can do is to connect Document Libraries into Groove workspaces and then synchronize them. But besides that you do not have much functionality towards SharePoint. The features in Groove workspaces (such as calendar, discussions etc) are totally separate from SharePoint.
