Hi there,

I'm working with MS Access 2003. I've been trying to send x amount of variables to a report so that it will produce results based on which criteria are needed. The problem I've run into in Access is that the Report wants to know exactly how many variables it is expecting and of course that defeats the purpose.

One idea is to use a form instead of a report, but which object to use to produce report like results in a form? In a report there is a 'Detail' section that repeats itself based on the number of results. Is there anything similiar that could be used in a form?

In the meantime I will be searching the forum on this topic and will update on anything I find as well as working on a code around, but any help/suggestions are appreciated as well.

Cheers

Chris

The variables are string and date data types mostly that I'm gathering from fillable fields.

Forms do have a Detail section (I noticed after I posted) but I can't get the detail section to repeat itself multiple times on the same form. In a report, the detail section repeats itself as many times as it can fit per page, and as many times as there are records to display.

Thanks for your response.

Continuous forms will display multiple detail sections.

I still don't have a clue what you mean by variables. How are these related to "which criteria are needed"?

Are you asking how to filter the records in a report based on any number of criteria entered by a user?

Continuous forms, great!

You're right I'm gathering any number of data entered by a user, and using that data to filter a report results. That part is alright.

Thanks for your help!
