USB Win2000 Connection Problem

I am trying to connect my PPC via ActiveSync 3.6 to a Win2000 PC. I have successfully connected to half a dozen Win2000 PC's before but I am runnig into a problem on a new PC at work. ActiveSync does not recognize that the PPC and Win2000 searches and searches the ports to find a PPC with no success.

Any ideas?

Not sure if this is your problem but is the user logged on a local administrator to the PC? I had a mountain of issues with users who weren't Local Admins on their PC's. They got all sorts of errors etc. I made them local admins and all the problems went away. Also check your domain policies - perhaps (in a similar fashion) the users haven't got 'rights' to use the PDA.
