Could someone please explain why no one writes drivers for any USB devices so it will work under Win95 OSR2.1? This is really getting on my nerves. There is absolutely no way I am "upgrading" from one piece of junk MS OS to their latest and most bloated buggy pieces of crap OS's. If MS wants to give me a new OS since they already bilked me for Win95 I'll consider it but I am surely not paying money to replace one defective product with another from the same manufacturer.
Just got a Canon A40 digital camera for Christmas and apparently the jerks at Canon decided I am not worth writing drivers for so their camera is going back to the store. I really enjoy how their attitude is that Win95 users can just go to hell. I know I could try and find a non-USB memory chip reader - but why should I? It is as if MS bribed these companies to not allow their software to work under Win95 - even OSR2.1 which supports USB. I installed the software for Win98, I have a functioning USB port, even when I plugged in the camera Win95 saw that something got plugged in. But the software from Canon magically "cannot find" the camera. Goodbye Canon camera and anything else from Canon.
