Hey all.
need some help. Today i bought a Logitech Headset 20, which plugs into a USB port. I plugged it in, and all seemed fine, but then i heard this annoying crackling :(. I tried different games, Rise of Nations, Raven Shield, Max Payne 2. All of them had bits of crackling, not all the time, but often enough to make it annoying. Not only in games, but also in windows, such as when a warning dialog comes up, afterwards you hear a bit of crackling. I went to Logitech website and they didnt have any update drivers for this. Only thing that works without crackle is music in winamp. I have disconnected my speakers and switched them off, still has a problem.

Going into Sound and Audio devices : .... the default device for playback is the Logitech USB Headset. Sound recording is the microphone on my Webcam and the MIDI music playback is Microsoft GS Wavetable , i tried changing this MIDI, but same problem. In the performance tab of the headphones it has Hardware Acceleration : full, and Sample Rate : best.

Thank you for your help.

My system:
Soundblaster LIVE! soundcard.
2.4Ghz Pentium 4
Windows XP

Look in your volume setting make sure they are all about a quarter of the way turned up. sometiems having your midi volume or your wave volume up without those channels being used just puts added noise and crackling in the background.. could just be a loose wire or dirty usb port too.
