Hello,

I guess I fried my USB drive, but wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix it anyways before I throw it away.
I have a Hyundai 2.2GB USB HDD. It's almost new as I have not used it too much. I recently tried to install Dekart's Private disk encryption software on this but ended up loosing the disk altogether.
Now, when I attach the drive to the computer, its LED turns on for a few moments then goes off. The drive shows up as a removable drive in the windows explorer but when I try to open it there is an error message that there is no disk found. Cannot format or fdisk it either. The drive runs as it heats up as usual but it is not accessible. Maybe the MBR has been distroyed. Tried HDD regenerator, nothing.
Any thoughts?

Regards

If you're running XP does it appear in disk management? (run diskmgmt.msc)

HI wolluf,

Tried that already. The drive shows up as a removable drive "M" but cannot perform any operation on it.

Thanks
