USB devices

I have dell P4 system running WinXP Pro. I have connected my digital camera Fuji to USB port on the back of the system, it somehow doesn't pick up a drive letter after re plugging it back in after taking few shots. Whereby it works one day and the other day it never gets a drive letter. Pls do let me on how to resolve this issue?
I have already tried switching back and forth on the usb ports, no luck.

Try upgrading the bios version on your system.

I've had that problem with my Dell and Fuji Finepix, everything else I plug in works fine. I find turning the camera off & on fixes it, for that use anyway.
