I got a web server at 62.62.62.11 255.255.255.0 (for example). It's on the DMZ2 at 10.1.2.2 255.255.0.0
I have a DNS server at 62.62.62.5 255.255.255.0 (for example). It's on lower security DMZ1 at 10.1.1.2 255.255.0.0

My web server cannot resolve names against the DNS server. I was told that I need to use the alias command. But i am not sure what the proper syntax be in this particular case.

Thanx in advance.

The alias command change the structure in a dns response so that a name will point to address of a machine that is on the same pix interface. If you ask a dns server that reside to other pix interface "what's the address of xxx.dom.com" the answer will be xxx.dom.com ip address that you define with a static command. But if xxx.dom.com reside on the same interface as your machine, his ip address will be in the same class as yours. In this case pix will put in dns anwer the address that your server has it on that interface.

How did you did the nat for 10.1.2.2
I think you have something like static (dmz2, outside) 62.62.62.5 10.1.2.2 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0.
You must have a static (dmz1, dmz2) 62.62.62.5 10.1.2.2 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0.
It's a little strange config.
If my sugestion doesn't help you write me on e-mail dragos@bvb.ro and I will help you solve this problem.
