I installed 1.3.20 on my Windows 2000 and when I run Apache, I have an index.html file that calls a servlet using " I get the following error:
"[Sun Sep 09 20:31:33 2001] [error] [client 24.219.163.90] File does not exist: c:/servlets/ari/servlets/databaseengine"

The path is correct, but it converted the filename to lowercase, which I think is why it can't find it. Has anyone run into this? Anyone figured it out why it converted it? I've seen similar numerous forum questions on deja.com but none seem to help.

Thanks, Tyler

Hi Tyler,

I have no problems with case when accessing files on my machine.

I might be wrong here but as far as I know, windows is NOT case-sensitive with filenames. I am no expert with apache on windows, I only installed it on my machine today so I might be wrong but I can definatly access the files no matter what case I use.

Sorry that I don`t have a solution... Wullie

I may not be much help either but it looks like you are calling a URL but the error message is pointing to a different path. I haven't used windows in years but I also remember something about "virtual paths"? Does that ring a bell? Sorry I wasn't much help

Hi Tyler,

I think Rythemace is right, afetr what I have seen you only enter from the apache directory and not the full path. If not already, add the servlets directory into the apache folder and try the same url again.

Hope this helps Wullie

When I don't do anything and I specify an Alias of "/servlets/ C:/servlets/ari/servlets" in httpd.conf, I get this error:
File does not exist: c:/program files/apache group/apache/htdocs/servlets/DatabaseEngine

When I create the above path (adding "/servlets"), I get the following error:
File does not exist: c:/program files/apache group/apache/htdocs/servlets/databaseengine

Why??!! This is thoroughly F*%$#ing up my world!
