Hi All,

Can anyone tell me the command to know the serial number of the disk in the server.I know while booting we can go to single user mode and chceck it or while booting we can get serial no.But i want to know whether any normal user can use command to know the serial no of the disk.Any urgent help will be highly appreciated.

Try man on diskinfo and see if this gives you the info you need.

you can use a special software for analizing your system called cfg2html.

You can see serial numbers of the disk under Installed Hardware.
