Hi,
Does anyone ever done a field redefinition, using DAO, in order to change the size of a existent text field, by code, say from 10 to 20, without losing existing data in table?
I'm trying to use Field.Size, but it seems to be ReadOnly, for an already appended field!
Does any one know about this?

Thanks in advance,

create a temp table a copy but with the new size for
that field.

copy data to this temp table.

remove/rename the first table.
rename temp to the first tables namn

you can do this in code.

Thanks Rod,
That's how i fix the field problem I have a few minutes ago.(It was a ploblem found in a customer, thats why I sign it as urgent...).
Anyway i still wonder how does access handles that, when in table definition, you just change the field size...

Anyway Thanks
