DEAR MEMBERS:

I need your urgent hellp to figure out how i can correct these computer errors. I will be informal as much as i can to explain my situation. To start: I have a toshiba satellite 1400-s151 laptop which is 2-3 years old. It never gave me a problem like this...UNTIL NOW. what it says on the blue screen is:

Kernel_data_inpage_error

Then it says if it is the first time the this happens restart your computer

It also says that it could be due to bad installation of hardware and/or software. Ways to fix his is to disable Bios memory options such as caching or shadowing.
oxoooooo7a (0xc0201850, 0xc000000e, 0c042f3860, 0x80614cbb)
The after that it says Dumping Physical Memory.
and underneath that is says something like(didn't quite catch it sorry:(: atapi-sys-address F9788CA8 base at f9779000 datestamp....(didn't get the last part of the last line sorry:(

It doesn't show up this blue screen the second i turn it on. FIRST, it gave me this error screen after 5 hours, then it will restart and it will recover (after dumping physcial memory) and windows error report screen will show up and will say:
windows has recovered from serious error (on error report it will say: error signature: BCCode: 7a, BCP1:Co20B1850, BCP2: C000000E, BCP3:80614CBB, BCP4: 0D7A6860
OS ver:5_1_2600
SP:-2-0 Product:256-1
on error report contents from tech info click here:
-the following 2 files will be included in error report:
1. drive c:\Docume~1/Nabeel(user name)\LOCALS~\Temp\wer484.dir00/Mini06305-01.dmp
2. drive c:\Docume~1/Nabeel(user name)\LOCALS~\Temp\wer484.dir00/sysdata.xml

That was just the first time. After a couple of days it got worse by doing a couple of times more and showed me another error which is (not as often as the first):

Kernel_Stack_Input_error
same thing as the first error except it says now:
0X00000077 (0XC000000E, 0XC000000E, 0X0000000, 0X099FD000)

After these, it will show some of kerneldatainpageerror and one more kernelstackinput error. During that time (after 3 kerneldata and 1 kernalstack error), my laptop also starts to make clicking noise never heard before (as if it's writing/reading continuously even if I'm not accessing it) and just as it is doing that after a couple of time my computer will lags and freeze couple of second. After that, my computer just freezes (when the green light is constantly on for more then 10 seconds.) and gives one of the preceeding messages (mostly kerneldatainpageerror).

Therefore, I am afraid it will start to get worse and worse until it will delete every-single-valuable-things from my hard drive! However i am sure one of you kind beings can help me out before it start to do the-most-terrible-thing: delete my entire fuc*** hard drive. (can these two error possible of doing that?)

Before you suggest something know this:
I virus scanned but it found nothing. i also ran regcleaner, tweakregistercleaner but it didn't help either (although it found some stuff often left behind after uninstalling programs), and other spyware programs (ad-aware, spy doctor, search and destroy etc) and got rambooster but none of them seem to help. Therefore, that doesn't seem to be the problem at all. However..

I pinpoint the problem why did it all happened and I came down with 3 things (its only these anyway:)):
1. my first and main suspicion the whole thing started is when my the free download manger encountered a damn BUG. I uninstalled the program but it didn't help (also erased its registry history with regcleaner and tweakregcleaner)
2. I acidently set my externel hard drive one volume (have 3 volume in the external HD) as active, but i dont think that is the problem because i had it active for about a month and during that time it never gave me an error or any of that kind... (again until the download manger encountered a bug but not the problem with the hd just the error)
3. I downloaded 300 files (about 20 mb each) in less then 8 days (i was on trial so during that time i want to downloaded as much as i can so i won't get fully billed :)) and it was the first time in those 8 days i used my laptop 16 hours a day. However, again i also don't think thats the problem because i scanned all the files with the virus many times and spyware (the site also has a strict policy on spyware so they couldn't and din't have any, for that i am sure:))

Therefore, I really think its either the bug or the external hard one volume set on active acidently. Therefore, MY REQUEST to my dear member is: Can you please tell me how to fix the bug by what program that does it and how to undo the external hard drive volume as unactive because i don't use it all the time (just to backup files) and just turn it off when i am done. Also, any addition information will definitely help from any of you dear members. so please reply as soon as and as much as you can. I will really really appreciate it!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! (I will do the same to help you when ever i get the chance.) peace take care!

check that out first.

It could be bad ram. If you have more than one stick of ram then try one stick at a time and see if that resolves the problem.

Using google i see the swap file is mentioned a few times. You might want to delete the swap file that you have and reboot. At that time windows will create a new swap file.

Download and run the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic program. Have you blown the dust out of the cooling fan? It may be a simple overheating problem/

One other thing. Its considered impolite to use all caps.
Its as though you were HOLLERING AT US!. I know you didnt know that, so its just for future use, use plain letters and not all caps.

i would have done what you all said but now my computer is just saying on a black screen:

PXE-E61: media test failure, check cable (i think i got this because i acidently made an external hard drive one volume as active(from storage: disk management snap-in) however it never gave me this screen when i first did that and that was a month ago).
Also, one more thing i just remembered now which is i scanned-only with a registry cleaner called repair registry pro and it found a lot of problems (more then 300 mostly file/path reference). therefore, should i buy it to fix it (is it important to do that? is this be the cause of the kernel message errors i am having?) or i should buy another registry cleaner that is better then this one (which one do u think i should get or should i get the one that finds the most problem in my computer?)

you hard drive is failing/has failed. it cannot even begin to boot to windows anymore. dont try to boot the laptop anymore. get a windows setup cdrom (or manufacturers diagnostic bootdisk as described above) -- and see if it can correct any bad sectors.

for windows cd, you boot to the setup cd-rom, choose repair install, use recovery console to repair damaged install, select the default install, enter admin password, you get a C:\ drive prompt. run chkdsk /r. allow it to finish. reboot. see if it boots any better. if it does not, your best bet is to take the laptop to a data recovery business - because the drive is now most likely damaged beyond common repair methods..

Sorry!!!

also, sometimes the admin password is blank(in recovery console), so try that if other passwords dont work...

frankly i would take it directly to a data recovery service. you can google for one in your area or perhaps a compusa or similar store can suggest a service to you also.

By the way, i dont think the fact that you made an external drive active that this is your problem. As long as you tell the bios which is to boot first thats what counts.
It does seem as though your hard drive is damaged.

i think your all right my hard drive is failing therefore i am going to repair or chanage the hd however before i do that is their anyway i can back up the files from their to another external hd (can i use the same external hd which one volume i set up as active: btw now the active one is corrupted and unreadable! do u suugest i should use the same or get another one) if it doesn't boot all the way to show the programs?

If you put the "problem" drive in another computer as a "slave" (take it out of the External case if it is in one), you can back up anything you need.

can you tell me how do uput thr problem drive in another computer as SLAVE

You take the hard drive out of the enclosure. Then, on the back of the hard drive there is a jumper, move the jumper to the slave position. You will have to go to the mfgrs website to get the correct jumper position. The hard drive itself will tell you the mfgr name and also the model number of the hard drive. Get that info and set the h drive to slave.
Then go to your motherboard and look for the primary (0) connection and the cable that is coming from that. If that cable is all grey then you can connect the hard drive to that cable in the vacant connector. If the cable is grey with with a blue, grey and black end connector, then you must put the hard drive on the grey connector as that is the one for a slave h drive. You must also connect a molex connector to the hard drive, which is right beside the jumpers.
I hope you understand this.

there are converters available, its called a 2.5" - 3.5" drive converter. You basically connect it to the converter after removing the drive from the laptop (you will also need to remove the special connector on the back of the drive before connecting the converter). you would then plug the converter into the cables and power on the pc like any other hard drive. heres a sample link:

I dont think he is talking about using the hard drive from his laptop. I believe he has an external enclosure with a hard drive in it and he wants to put it in another computer.

these are classic symptoms of bad sectors on the laptop hard drive. thats what made me believe the laptop hd is going bad, not to mention the pxe boot screen (cant boot to hd).

Ya, my mistake.

Still, though, he wants to put his laptop h drive into a regular computer so what i said still works but he has to use an adaptor or converter first, then follow the instructions i gave him.

actually i want to back up both files in external hd corrupted volume and the hd from the computer that is having problems to another hd. so your both right? however, can i not just do that: use a data recovery for the external hd (like ez recovery: do u know any other recovery program that can work with seage to backup files from a corrupted volume) to send to another computer that is working fine? is that a better choice or the one garebo told me?

To jiimp56: about the converter you told me will it work with laptop to laptop because thats what i would be doing?

tomcruise3230: the converter will allow you to take the drive and place it into another ~desktop~ pc to copy or recover data only. it wont work with a laptop to laptop transfer unless you use the external drive as the intermediate storage device first. in other words, bad laptop's data to external drive, then copy data from external drive to good laptop.

as for a data recovery program, i have used and bought a program called "getdataback" - its around $80 and works well the times i have used it.

it can probably read the data off of your boot volume and recover to the external drive, however it needs to run under windows or off of a boot cdrom (like UBCD). so, thats why i suggested getting the converter and placing the laptop drive in a desktop pc, if you can. its the easiest way (assuming that removing the laptop drive doesnt require taking the laptop apart).

once you can run windows or the boot cdrom, you can run getdataback, and it will show you if you can recover any of the files. if it can, you will have to pay and get a license to actually write the recovered data to the external drive (or wherever you recover it to).

just keep in mind that once you get your data moved off of the "bad" laptop, you cant just reformat it and reinstall windows(if thats your intention). you will need to run a program to correct the bad sectors, if they are repairable. if they arent repairable, you will need to get the drive replaced.

as for how to use the laptop drive converter, see garebo's advice above about removing the hard drive from the external enclosure - the methods to connect the laptop drive with converter to the desktop pc will be the same as far as cables/connectors are concerned. you shouldnt have to worry about the master/slave thing (jumpers) - but may need to.

so to summarize, if this is the route you want to take:
1) remove laptop drive from laptop, remove the small special connector at the end of the drive (looks like a bunch of copper strips in a row in a plastic case).
2) attach converter to back of drive where you removed special connector.
3) take the drive to a powered-off desktop pc and connect it per above instructions(just connect grey ide cable to converter, and connect power lead to an available power connector in pc).
4) power up the desktop pc and make sure it recognizes the laptop drive. boot into windows and run getdataback to recover data from boot volume. copy data off of second volume (either to the desktop PC's hard drive or the external hard drive).
5) use manufacturers utility (or windows' chkdsk utility) to repair the bad hard drive (if it can).
6) transfer data to the "good" laptop using the external hard drive.
7) power down pc and disconnect drive, and then remove converter and put the special connector back on, and then put it back into laptop.

Here's another wrinkle to this scenario - you CAN remove the laptop hard drive, connect it to the drive converter, and THEN place it into the external hard drive box(after removing original drive in the external box), and then plug the external box into the "good" laptop and get your data from there instead of using a desktop pc.

let us know if you need any further clarification. if this sounds too complicated, it can be, thats why i suggested a data recovery service. it will be expensive, but worth it if you can afford it and want to spare yourself of the hassle.
