Our voicemail server locked up this morning so I had to reboot it after. Everything seemed find until uses attempted to log in to their Phone Manager programs. Instead of getting PMPro they are getting PM Lite. I looked in manager and it is registering all of our licensing (VMPro, PMPro, CBC) as invalid. I double checked the license codes and they are all correct. I read through some of the previous posts here, which said deleting the licensing and re adding it might work, but now the status of the licensing is "Unknown" instead of "Invalid". Could someone please assist me in solving this problem.

Thanks

did your keyserver software come back OK, you should have a RED key indicator in your taskbar, if it's white with an red X through it then you need to reboot or maybe uninstall and reinstall the keyserver software. Removing the dongle while you uninstall/reinstall sometimes helps

some times when the ipo looks for the key server lics. and id does not find it it will go invalid. you then need to reboot the ipo to get it to look for the key again and all will be right with the world.

Sometimes restarting the key server service will get it going again but you will likely have to reboot the IPO.

Rebooting the IPO certainly fixes the problem, but it seems to come back on a weekly basis. The licenses read as invalid again and I have to reboot. We are currently running version 3.1.56. We upgraded to this from 48 about a 1 1/2 months ago, which now that I recall is the same time this problem started occurring. Has anyone else had this recurring problem?

Only had this problem if somebody programmed with a old manager.

Ieshna, I also have this reoccurring issue, it is very frustrating, it seemed to have started with 3.0.
I did replace the dongle (parallel) at one site, and the license's have not gone invalid since.
For the USB dongles, I go to device manager on the PC with the USB dongle, go to the "USB Root Hub" / "Power Management" / "Allow the computer to turn off this device". Make sure this is disabled.

I would look at the vmpro computer and make sure that all of the settings are correct. The stuff like power savings off, auto upgrades off etc.

When your licenses go invalid is your license key server app still running. Do you see anything suspicious in the event logs.

How is your vmpro computer attached to the IPO. Directly to an IPO LAN port or through a switch port?

On my failed IPO's, the license server is still running, and I am connected through the customers network.

Like thephonemn my license server is still running fine and I am connected to the IPO through the company intranet. I will look at the USB power settings.

One other thing i never use a usb dongle, i always use a serial at the back of the IPO.

If someone ordered an usb i send it back and ask for a serial one.

I would try to find a way to connect the vmpro computer directly to an IPO LAN port. You will eliminate all other LAN traffic-port blocking from being a cause.

Have you checked IP address exclusions in the DHCP server? You wouldn't want dhcp to serve up the address for the vmpro to another device.

There are no port blocking apparatus on the intranet. Both the IPO and our server which hosts the keyserve and voicemail are on DHCP reservations.
