Hi,

I am having a urgent problem. We are using HP Unix as Legato server and NT as storage node. Our Legato version is 6.1. We had a crash of index and media database (this we do not know why yet). After re-install Legato, we found out that our NT storage node servers can not backup themselves. They are still functioning as storage node, we can use them to backup other NT servers, but they can not backup themselves, even the c:\ drive. Has anyone seen this before ? Any hint is appreciated.

Yes, client daemon running on the NT machine. After starting the backup group, in the Legato admin console, I can see it identifies the saveset, looks for tape, loads the tape, forwards the tape to the right place. And then it does nothing. It waits for a few minutes and then says writing complete. Nothing is backed up on tape and there is no index generated. There is no error message also.

Try running the following command in a commnand window

save -s <server name> -v c:
This the command that starts the data going to the server.
The -v will show the debug messages. Any directives being used? Is this an incremental or a full back? Is there any messages in the daemon.log?

Also 6.1 has some fixes missing that were put back in
6.1.1
