Hello,

The reason for the message is to ask for some 'instruction' (versus links) on how I could deploy MSDE as a VB.NET or C# application. I've been trying this for the past several days, but haven't had a bit of success. Anyone's assistance would be GREATLY appriciated!

Thanks

One way is to use the merge modules and incorporate them into your app's setup program. That way MSDE is automatically installed with your app is installed.

Ladyhawk,

Thank you, again, for answering the message. I am sure you remember me posting this question once before, but I still haven't been able to do what you've suggested. So, if you would please shoot me a reply with step-by-step instructions. I would greatly appriciate it!

Thanks...

What installation package are you using? InstallShield? Windows Installer? something else?

Ladyhawk,

Many, many THANKS for the reply...

The answer to your question is 'Windows Installer'.

Thanks

With Windows Installer, you can include merge modules. On the Office 200 CD under MSDE I think, there are some msm (merge module) files. You just need to include these in your installation. You may want to check out msdn about them because you may not need to include all of the modules.
