Hi,

When we try to perform a directed recover of MSEXCH:IS from SERVER1 to SERVER2 Networker somehow ignores to restore PRIV.EDB!

As you can see below only 547MB (of a 20GB saveset) is restored. There have been no trouble with the backups of SERVER1. We have also tried restoring from many different backups without luck. Finally one more question: Is it possible to perform a directed recover (like the one mentioned) from the commandline using "nsrxchrc"?

Any help appreciated!

Regards,
StefanS

Setup:
Server1: NT4 SP5, Exchange 5.5 SP4, NW 6.0.1 + BSM 2.0
Server2: NT4 SP3, Exchange 5.5 SP4, NW 6.1.1 + BSM 2.0-003 (2.0-004 generated a missing .DLL error, also tried 2.0 and NW 6.0.1)

Output from "Networker user for Microsoft Exchange":

Is this an MSCS environment?

Rememeber that you can ONLY do a directed recover of Exchange in such an environment.

No, it's not a MSCS environment.

However, your statement about directed recover is incorrect. You DO have the ability to perform directed recoveries using Exchange module v. 2.xxx (dont know about the other versions though) in a non-clustered environment.

BUT in MSCS evironments you MUST use directed recover to restore databases from a virtual server. In a non-clustered Exchange server system, however, a directed recover of the Exchange Directory store should not be performed, because the Directory is specific to the original Exchange Server host.

Stefan

Are you using the Networker User for Exchange Server or just Networker User?
Ensure you are running the NU for Exchange Server on the recovery server.

We're using Networker User for Exchange Server v.2.0 & 2.003 (see first post...)

What GUI are you using (what menu item from Start->Programs)?
BTW, is there a reason you are using version 2 and not 3?
