i'am trying to create a dynamic report with crystal report 8.0 devlopper version, but i couldn't find any example using stored procedures(sql server 2000 database).

when i create the recordset from a stored procedure, i always get the error -"2147192179 (8004728d) Error detected by database dll". anyone know how to solve this problem?

thanks lot.

Did you create the report directly against the SP or are you trying to pass a recordset to the report within the App. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

The error you mentioned is usually the result of a stored procedure that will not run - it could be another db error, but first before you go any further, make sure the procedure generates data correctly from SQL Server's Query Analyser, then test it from the report.

Also, just as Ken mentioned above, are you using VB with this attempt or are you just using Crystal against a SQL Sever stored procedure? Cody ford

In fact, I tried to pass a recordset to the report with in the App.

On the other hand SP itself is all right, since I called this SP from the ASP, that is work.

Did you create the report directly against the SP, or use Active Data, or use a TTX file?

You can't pass a recordset to a report, unless it was created based on a recordset. Usually that means using the Active Driver to create the report.
