when i try to set the outgoing CLID in target DN>Target Lines>Public OLI i get "entry must be 4 number or blank"

If i set the DN Receive length to 7 all incoming calls go to reception

This doesnt make sense to me
what are you trying to do? can you explain

Public OLI should be 10 digits on all systems - not configurable, as outbound CLID needs to include NPA/NXX+4 digits. Private OLI length is dependent on the private network dialing plan digit length you define.

Are you sure you're putting it in the right field?

Yes, I have I have set up several BCM's.
I ran a quick start and built BCM with a 3000 number range.
When i program target lines public OLI field it wont let me enter anything but 4 numbers.
I am trying to set up the CLID the BCM sends out but can not because the CLID i need to program is more than 4 numbers

Target line public OLI field? Are you talking about received digits on a target line? OLI is oubound line identifier - allows you to override CLID on PRI/BRI circuits. That has nothing to do with target lines though.

How many digits is the telco sending you, if I am correct in my assumption that you are having target line problems.

Yes I am Talking about the the Public OLI Field setting in Target Lines. I believe the telco is sending me 4 digits because DID only works when Public Recieve Length is set to 4.
I have another BCM where Public Recieve Length is set to 4 and i can enter more than for numbers in the public OLI field. This BCM however Public Recieve length is set to 4 and i can only enter 4 digits in the Public OLI field.

After reading the documentation i discovered that I think i have discovered the problem.
Is it possible that if i accidently did the quick start using the PBX template instead of the DID template.

Documentation says PBX template only allows the same number of OLI numbers as the DN length.

Bucky Funny you wrote I just placed a BCM in yesterday and the same issue has risen. Check it out!!! I was to start this thread. I haven't completely read all replies but I will now.

I have seven bcm's in my phone network all which tie back into a 61c which has four PRIs to the PSTN. Currently we have installed a new BCM 3.7 (total 8) and the OLI is not functioning properly. At the line access prompt, I have placed my 4 digit extension in the private oli index and my 10 digit phone number in the Public oli index slot. What happens is the following: while dialing externally to the 61 and out to the PSTN, I get my default PRI caller ID 276 XXX 5000. Which tells me it is not passing the OLI which is set at 276 xxx 5812. However while dialing internally, from that BCM to BCM or from that BCM to 61c I get name (ex:pHlibrary)and 10 digit phone oli clid. It almost seems as though the two are swapped. But the BCM will not allow a 10 digit in the Private oli index at the line access imput area. My first thought is that there is a global setting on the BCM which will allow CLID to pass. I do not recall making such change when I installed the other seven BCMs, in addition I don't see any setting in the BCM to make such a change........ Ideas anyone?

Inappropriate post?
If so, Red Flag it!

After reading your other post and seeing that you mention this system isn't in North America, I'll refrain from offering any more opinions. I'm not familiar with non North American profiles or what they can/can't do.

Sorry for possibly leading you down an incorrect path.
