I've done something unbelievably stupid: I saved a JPEG file from camera to RAW format on Photoshop 6 and now I can't open it! Please help me! on another issue, if I save something with photoshop on a Mac, can I open that file on a PC(with photoshop)?

You shouldn't have a problem opening this RAW image back into Photoshop:-

Try launching Photoshop, select File/Open, then you should be able to select RAW from an option in the dialog box. Then navigate to the picture you are having problems with any try to open it...

This can get round the problem

And yes, just save the files from the Mac with appropriate extensions

filename.JPG | filename.TIF | filename.EPS | filename.BMP

Windows uses the extension of the file to understand what file type it is - unlike Mac's which hide this information inside the file itself

Good Luck

Oh yes, and if you are going to put them onto a CD...

Write the CD as an ISO 9660 - then the PC will be able to read it

Duncan,
I've already tried what you suggested before posting and it didn't work! the weird thing is that Photoshop can display the thumbnail size, but can't open the whole file!

Try "Open As..." select the RAW file and change the format to JPEG.
