Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro issue 8

Hi All,

I want to upload wav files for auto attendant for a avaya ip office server edition.
I have created the flow chart, but when I try to upload a Wav to the token of menu etc, I don't see the Wav file and also I have noticed that the vmpro doesn't allow you to go fully backwards to the main drive like C:\.
I have added the file to the custom prompts and also added a file called "welcome", but the file will not be seen.
Where or how can I add it precisely, I am usin version 11

You need to upload the wavs to the /opt/ipoffice/vmpro/wavs/CustomPrompts folder using SFTP, VMPro on a Server Edition uses the files from the UNIX filesystem. Once they're uploaded they will show up in the VMPro file selector.
 
Hi BFG9K,

I am using WINSCP for the SFTP, when I login I see the name of the module name Maria.vmp
What I see is: C:\Program Files(x86)\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM, but no Wav.

What SFTP do you use WINSCP or something else?
I am trying to find the details steps to do this in WINSCP

 
I use WinSCP and connect through SFTP. Upload is done to the /opt/ipoffice/vmpro/wavs/CustomPrompts folder as already told to you.

The file has to be in the right audio format (WAV, PCM, 8kHz, 16bit, mono) to be recognized as valid file.

We use Bitvise to manage our IPOs, as it opens an SSH as well as an SFTP session. As derfloh also said you need to convert the wav files to PCM, 8KHz Sample Rate, signed 16bit mono for them to be recognized by VMPro

Zero6, I wanted to double check, are you using an IP Office Server Edition Voicemail Pro, or a Windows Server Voicemail Pro? If it's a Server Edition then you will be using SFTP to transfer the files, if it's a Windows server then they are at C:\Program Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Wavs

So the ip office server edition is in a VM ware environment, so the image has been downloaded and installed on a server.
What I did next was to go in the server using the ip xx.xx.xx.xx/7070 and download the VMPro client from App center in the server.
So it IP Office Server Edition Voicemail Pro, or do I need to download the windows version?
 
No, it is server edition Voicemail Pro. Using the windows client to configure is correct. SFTP is needed to upload the file. If it is uploaded it should be selectable with VM client if you select the correct path and the file has the correct format.

Are file uploaded with root user and VMPro user doesn't have the rights ?

try to change rights to 777 on the files ;)
 
You can use Web Manager :)7070) to upload the files to the /opt/ipoffice/VMProCustomPrompts folder and then to the /opt/vmpro/WAVS folder

OR, you can use WinSCP to upload the files to /home/Administrator, then use PuTTY to SSH in as Administrator, switch to root, change the ownership of the files to vmpro:vmpro and move them to the correct folder
 
If Avaya didn't mess this up with an update it's possible to upload files to the customprompts folder as Administrator (not root).

When you upload the files in the opt/ipoffice/vmpro/wavs/CustomPrompts folder make sure you are not logged in VM Pro.
After uploading the file, select it, and then click on the icon top right to commit changes.
If you are logged on VM pro it will not commit.

I tried the steps using WinSCP (not logged in Voicemail pro) and loaded the file, but when I enter voicemail pro and choose the directory where the /wav/ custom prompts is, I get the message "You do not have permission to select the directory. Please select some other directory"

How can I get this permission?

What are the permissions of the Customprompts directory?

Hi MrFooF,

I tried changing the permission for the custompromp ( properties) and even tried wav,too 0777, but when choosing ok, I get a message and code 3, that I am not allowed to change the permission.
 
With files do you mean the messages?
No I haven't tried that, will check it out
 
Ok, I tried change the message right in /opt/ipoffice/vmro/wavs/CustomPrompts/
Menu wave to 0777, but still getting the error 3
The rights is rw-r--r-r-- 0644
