I am using DTS to export data into flat files. I would like
to upload them to a website with a DTS task using FTP.
I attempted to type this in the destination directory box
and get an error message for invalid directory.

ftp://<username>:<password>@<website address>/

Any suggestions on how I can get this accomplished.

I did some similar works before. I set two steps for the job:
1. export data from the db table to the text file. The text file is located in a network drive.

2. use an FTP task to copy the file to an iis directory. Open the FTP task. Select Location tab. Select Directory as Source.
Type in source path like: \\myDirectory\FilesFolder
Also type in destinationpath like: \\iis\FilesFolder
Then select Files tab. Select the text file from Source, and click > bottom to send to Destination.

Did you use the same steps?

THANKS DAVIDSL

I HAVE SET UP THE DTS PACKAGES THAT EXPORT THE TEXT FILES
TO MY LOCAL SERVER. WHEN I SET UP THE FTP TASK I WANT TO
UPLOAD TO A FOLDER ON MY WEBSITE.(REMOTE) I CAN USE MY BROWSER TO ACCESS THE FOLDER WITH THE FOLLOWING STRUCTURE:
ftp://username:password@<website> this login accesses the
folder. OK. So I tried to enter the path in the box for
the destination folder and I get an error message.
"DESTINATION DIRECTORY INVALID"

STILL CAN'T UPLOAD TO THE WEB FOLDER.

THANKS DAVIDSL

FUNNY YOU SHOULD MENTION THAT. I AM WORKING ON AN ACTIVE X
SCRIPT AS WE SPEAK.

NOT TO GOOD IN VB THOUGH. I THINK I CAN MUDDLE THROUGH IT
THANKS.
