Sorry for such a rookie question, but I seem to be having
some trouble accomplishing this and have not been able to find the answer anywhere online.

I can save config files all day long using a tftp server, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get them back to the pix. I don't want them to merge so conf mem is not what I want right? I've tried conf net, but that
doesn't seem to work or I'm doing it wrong.

I've also tried copy and the file does transfer but it says, "No image found in download file, Image not installed." So, I assume that's for only uploading an image. This has to be possible right?

TIA,
MH

FWIW,
The only solution I've found so far, is to use the config net option with clear configure all at the top of the list I'm importing.

This way, it first clears the current running config and then merges with a blank configuration. You probably don't want to do this on a production box though (at least in the middle of the day) as you will lose all your connections.

Cheers

To load the configuration from a tftp server into the PIX you need the "configure net" command. However this command merges the running configuration with the config file stored in the TFTP server. If merging doesn't work from you then you need to make the changes overnight and erase the running configuration before loading the new one from a TFTP server. A"write erase" and a reload will erase your running configuration.
