About a year ago, I upgraded to XP Pro from Win2k Pro. This problem has persisted for about a year and I still cannot seem to fix it. About my only solution left is to reformat but that is such a pain sometimes --especially with this computer.
Anyways, I have had a strange connectivity problem. I can connect to the internet with no problems, however I cannot directly upload files to other computers across the internet. For example, I can't simply upload a file to a user on ICQ. The user instantly receives a fail message while my computer hangs on trying to connect. This computer cannot be a host for something like an internet multi-player game, either.
I used to think that this was a DHCP issue, however I have resolved that problem and am still having problems.
I am not running a firewall (disabled the built-in XP) and this computer is not being run through a router.
I am running this computer through DHCP, through a hub in order to connect to the internet, and I am running XP Pro.
Any info or guidance in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
