Hello,

I need to install a patch/update in an Avaya CM 5.2.1, specifically for the CMM. I can't find the option to upload the update file when I access from the web brouser. I see the options for Upgrade--> Manage Software and Upgrade -> Upgrade tool but I don't think I can upload and update from there. Can't find the option. I searched the documentation in support.avaya but can't really figure it out. Sorry, I know it has to be a super easy thing to do. any help? Thanks in advance!

download files" in the CM web browser under server maintenance
backup everything
stop CMM
go in to messaging web
advanced software install
it should find the patches for you and install them
start messaging

make sure you check the size of the download compared to the published size before you upload them.

TDMorIP, Thanks so much for the reply. How is it different to upload an update for the CM? Thanks again!

I can't emphasise this more.

Sadly Avaya don't publish MD5 checksums for the CMM Patches. However they do for all the CM and Gateway patches and firmware. It is well worth running a MD5 checksum on your downloaded files and comparing to the published values before you try to deploy. It may save you hours of pain.

Take Care

My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
