we have several servers that we are going to upgrade from Win2000 to Win2003. One of them is our Exchange server running Exchange 2000 and one is Win2000 running SQL 2000. Any tips and tricks, cautions, and advice is welcome.
I'm running SQL 2000 on Win2K3 Server with no problem. In fact, that was probably the easiest part of the migration. Now if I could just get all the darn permissions right...
SQL 2000 on Widnows 2003 is possible, but you'll have to install SQL 2000 SP3 immediately after installing the database. Otherwise it gets ugly (in the non-fcuntional sense).
You cannot install Exchange 2000 on a Windows 2003 Server. If you keep your Exchange 2000 server running Windows 2000 Server, then you can still run it within a Windows 2003 domain.
Thanks for all the replies! We currently use our Exchange 2000 only for instant messenging so we are looking at another program for that. As for the SQL, that's good news.
