Hi, I am working with a VAR that is not local, and trying to give him as much info as possible about our old SX-200 in prep to switchover to a 3300

In describing the MoH at our office, I use a computer sound card that plugs into a little box on the wall that is about 3 inches square, and has a name of "TEL-1" on it.

It has a volume control as well. Anyone know what this is?

Thanks!

It may be an LIU (Line Isolation Unit)

These are used for paging and MOH sources.
It should be compatible with any phone system.

Could also be a small amplifier because the output from the sound card was insufficient to be heard on the phone system.

if its has an RCA plug then you can still use it.

Are you varying what plays becuase if its a PC then you should be able to take the music file and convert it a form the 3300 will accept. Then just upload it to the 3300.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Tel-1 is simply an impedance matching device with volume control.

If it sounds fine on a SX-200 it will be fine on a 3300
