Beautiful. In the next couple of months I get to do around 500 online upgrades from 9.0.3.34 to 10.0.4.24. Done about 30 so far, no major problems.

@ Lundah

My best process is to export the IP Telephones form prior to upgrade and compare In service Phones afterwards.

Also, when you take those systems above 4.0, make sure to get a backup after migration and before upgrade.

I've had a couple of systems fail at the Licensing and Options step and had to revert the whole thing to 4.0 to restore my backup.

Having a Post migration backup allows you to move forward.

Have you not used the 'SWAP' command to go back if you get a failure?

Swap wouldn't work because the licensing was messed up (or possibly due to Migration issues)

I had to reinstall 4.0
Restore from 4.0 backup
Migrate again
*** backup post migration
Attempt upgrade again (failed again at licensing)
cancel
Get TAC on the phone
Fix licensing issues (some dimensioning issue)
Restore migrated DB

Yeah the migration is still a ways off, Last I heard, the boys in Kanata aren't even completely sure I can migrate a cluster the size of the one I'm dealing with without it all coming crashing down yet. One step at a time.

Whenever I migrate a cluster, I turn off sharing and upgrade 1 at a time, and then turn sharing back on.

I've never had more than 8 though.

500 is crazy
