Hi all,
I have spent a couple of weeks getting the hang of upgrading SP2001 to SP 2003 and how SP2003 will Automatically upgarde an older version..However there is one part of the process ( Part 5 ) that doesn't kick in automatically and so I was hoping someone could help.
Steps are:
1. Backup Sharepoint Portal Server 2001 -- Done
2. Export the Sharepoint 2001 Config info -- Done
3. Upgrade windows 2000 Server to 2003 -- Done
4. Upgrade Sharepoint 2001 document store to 2003 backward compatible document store -- done
5. Install Sharepoint Portal server 2003 ??( DO NOT RESTART PC )
After SP2003 is installed procedure says
DO NOT CREATE A NEW PORTAL SITE..
When you cancel creation of a new portal site upgrade.exe imports 2001 config and uses this to create a new portal 2003 site.......THIS STAGE NEVER Kicks in...The documents are all imported correctly but NO Portal site is created..
Anyone know what I am doing wrong here ??
Is there a way no to create the portal site ?
Thx,
Ray..
