Hi, several years ago I bought Illustrator 7 for my daughter, a graphic design student. I was informed that she really, really, really! (you get the idea) needs MC. Fine, I found MC upgrade version fairly reasonably priced and it is on order. I expect to receive it before Christmas. Here's the question:

In my search, I saw Illustrator 10 Upgrade version being offered with the warning that you had to have version 7 or newer. Now, doing my math, That is three version previous. Am I going to receive this Upgrade only to find out that I needed version 8 or newer? I've looked around but nothing is stated. I only saw the warning from one vendor on eBay.

Thanks for the help, Steve

Oops! I meant, Illustrator CS. Don't quite know what I was thinking of.

Illustrator MC is the rap version ;-)

I think that the upgrade version of Illustrator CS is in fact a full version. You simply need a serial number from the "old" one that you have.
I believe you can go back to version 5 (this is the case with the Creative Suite bundle upgrade using versions of photoshop etc.)

Best bet is to contact the vendor or Adobe and/or take a look around Adobe's website.

Thanks for the info. Uh, also, uh, can you give information on ordering Word, Yo? [afro]

That jpeg is one of the funniest I have ever seen! Thanks

Follow up...

I received the upgrade version of Illustrator CS. It states that you need any registered version of Illustrator but when it goes to look, it actually requires version 7.0 or higher.

FYI, thanks for the help, Steve
