Hello people,
I've been having some trouble upgrading a PIX515E from 6.3 to 7.0. Hopefully someone can help me
The PIX is a failover unit. (Primary unit has 7.0 already)
For the primary unit, I remember I just had to download the pix701.bin image using the copy tftp flash command. But I tried the same thing for the failover and it's not working: the pix won't connect to the tftp server.
I wasn't sure what the problem was at this point, so I tried to update using Monitor mode. And it seemed to have worked. PIX would download the image from the tftp server and a show version would show that version 7 was running, but there was a problem when I had to copy the image to flash.
According to the guide, I had to do this:
"Once booted, enter enable mode and copy the same image over to the PIX again. This time use the copy tftp flash command."
I tried to do that, but again it wouldn't connect to the server. How come I can ping the server in monitor mode, but not in normal mode?
Sorry for the long description Any help would be appreciated.
