We're currently using an antiquated bar-code system bought around 1992 and isn't integrated. We're talking to Maximum Data and wanted to look at Radio Beacon as well. Does anybody here use any of the provider above or someone else?

We use Radio Beacon for our Warehouse Management System. It is an o.k. product (not great). We implemented it about 9 months ago with an interface to Great Plains written by Blue Moon Industries. We went with it for an overall warehouse package and we found that Radio Beacon had the tightest interface to Great Plains.

Did you look at other vendors, which one?

We're also including the WMS package for the upgrade because right now we're using Highjump which doesn't integrate with Great Plains but is an awesome package.

I agree, HighJump is a great package. We would have went with it without question, however the interface to Great Plains is why we backed off. Radio Beacon doesn't nearly measure up to HighJump, but the interface is tight. We did not look at Geneva or anyone else. Our Director of Distribution had the budget from the 'powers that be' and wanted to purchase something quickly before that money was spent elsewhere. So the due diligence could have been better, but all-in-all they are operating with little disturbance. When there is a problem, the support is horrible, so you have to have a lot of patience and work with people that barely speak english. Anyway, our Director seems happy with everything, he should be considering we came from an entirely manual operation.

Highjump actually came yesterday and was proposing RFID as an upgrade with minimal investment since we're old customer.

We were considering this technology in the past but its still expensive and lack standard policies for international trading.

Tks for the link connie, I'll check it out!
