Hi,

I am New to the legato networker. Am trying to upgrade my networker server to 7.2.1 . I have read the document. According to the document, i need to uninstall legato networker and install client, driver, storagenode, server and man . Start the networker and perform nsrck .

My question here is:
1. Do i need to uninstall in any order..?.
Because the document doesnt mentioned to uninstall driver...

2. After nsrck.. Do i need to configure client, group and pool...?
3. Do i need to configure my jukebox again...?

Apologies.. if i asked any silly question here....

Thanks,
Pd77.

1. Use the reverse install order
2. Nope, all config should be intact
3. Nope, not unless you change any hardware

Make sure to run a bootstrap backup before upgrading and it is also a good idea to make a copy of the directories /nsr/res /nsr/mm and /nsr/index while networker is down before doing the upgrade.

for our upgrade to NW721, we had to delete the jukebox and redefine the tape devices - which was quick and easy.

What OS is it running on. If solaris just do a pkgrm of the LGTO packages and then install the new packages ...Everything should be there after install...

Our backup server is solaris 10, the pkgrm will not delete your /nsr directory (filesystem), however, we did backup the indexes just-in-case. The pkgadd default to /nsr.

Watch out - as the / filesystem is usually very small, /nsr is most often only a link to another physical location.

Thank you very much for all your valuable tips. I have successfully upgraded my networker to 7.2.2 Jumbo in AIX 5.3 server
