Good morning,

I am upgrading an MICS 6.1 FC (with 80 stations) to MICS 7.1 FC tomorrow afternoon and I need a refresher / pep-talk..[bigears]

I received a new 7.1 FC with a new NVRAM, the existing NVRAM is a Rls 02 but I definitely want to use the new NVRAM since its a Rls 04.

If I remember right I should do everything in this order:

1. Backup

2. Shut down / disconnect cables

3. Insert new software into old NVRAM (rls 2)

4. If successful, backup. (again)

5. Shut down / disconnect cables. (again)

6. Remove old NVRAM replace with new NVRAM (rls 4) and Software.

7. Everything should come up, if not do a restore...

Am I wrong?

Did I miss anything?

Thank You in advance!

~Melissa

I should add, we are doing this upgrade in preparation for a PRI key install.

We have purchased the PRI key but we ARE NOT activating or installing it until after the software upgrade is complete.

Thanks again.

Sounds like a lot of work just to use the newer NVRam.

I would personally keep the Rls 02.

Power down system. Swap 6.1 card with 7.1 card. Power up. Programming & everything will be held.
