I purchased a Merlin 7.0 board for our system and can't get it to cycle up.

Original system was Merlin II. We never needed any digital board, so I don't have any. I have a 408, 400, 008, 012 no letters on any of these.

Do I need to upgrade one of the boards to make system work?

check your power, probably have an 391A1 from your merlin 11 i believe you need atleast 391A3 pwr unit. does your old pwr. unit also have ring generator inside for your 012 sets ?. you may be able to change it to the new pwr. unit also

The processor is probably still programmed for a different configuration. Open up the processor clamshell and locate the memory caps (should be green, about the size of a half-dollar. Remove the jumper near the caps for 10 seconds and then put back. This will default all programming in the processor. Now your system should boot up to your current configuration. Without a digital board you will need SPM software to program the system.

Thanks a lot, I will check the power supply and if that is not the problem default it.

I've also located the manual and am dillegently going through it.

took alot for granted, do you have a laptop , spm software to program your your legend

These guys are right on. Without the SPM software to do the programming, you have a switch that is unprogrammable.

I HAVE THE SPM SOFTWARE BUT THE CURRENT VERSION/MODULE HAS ME LOCKED OUT. IF I CAN GET THE NEW MODULE TO POWER UP THEN WE CAN REPROGRAM IT.

THE BASIC THING IS THAT THE PAGE CANNOT BE ACCESSED FROM BASIC WALL/SHOP PHONES. SOME OF THE OTHER STUFF I'VE WORKED AROUND. BUT FOUND THE POWER SUPPLY ON E-BAY WAITING FOR ARRIVAL NEXT WEEK

don't understand ? page cannot be accessed, other stuff ,tell me it is working , try a board renumber , if that dos't work do a system erase, which means you program every thing from start
to access page from single wall #9 then line where you put your line from amp , did you program loudspeaker page in aux on spm,as Brian said earlier it still may have old programing on it , does anything say mismatch

Replaced power module then erased system by taking jumper off. Version 5 of Legend programming says use the 5th port from the top on 012 module. Still working on getting SPM to connect with system.

Think my Adapter could be bad.

SPM ver 5 WILL NOT program a release 7.0 , you need at least SPM ver 7.0

SPM can program release 7 as well as Magix's, however if you are using WinSPM, it will simply bring up a notice that you cannot use the WinSPM portion and will dump you into old SPM.

I'm not sure why you are looking at the 8th port of the 012 module. Your paging is typically connected to one of the "trunk" ports on the 408 ATL Module or the 400 GS/LS module.

Are the wall/shop phones programmed to access Merlin dialtone or outside dialtone when they go off hook? If programmed as the later, you will have to change the auto-line select so that they pull intercom dialtone first.

They have the merlin dialtone. But as I said I can't get in to Program. SPM 5 says not connected. I tryed to dial in remote/local. That is why I was using the 8th port. What port should I be using to dial in with a modem?

Yes. That's why I think there is something wrong with the adapter. I had an adapter prior to this and was able to access Dos SPM. But since I got this one, I've never been able to access the system.

You can use any analog port (making sure you draw intercom dialtone) and dial "*10" (star 10). You can still use your DOS SPM, however, you won't be able to convert (upgrade) your software beyond the release SPM you have.

Thanks Franke. I ran into another little block. Password for remote. Is there something that comes standard with the system like 1234?

I want to thank all of you! I've got everything on, and working as it was before. The programming was easy once I got started.

Thanks a lot!
