Hiya!

We've recently upgrade our MD110 from version9 -> V12
and as you can imagine there's been a fair few changes.

Unfortunately we're lost some important functionality
when it comes to diverts.

Q1) under v9 when person A diverted to person B, person
B's phone decided where the next diversion would go. Which
is very handy when a dept boss diverts to his secretary,
who maybe @ lunch & then diverts it to one of the other
secretaries who's in (which will vary from day to day).

under v12, it appears that you have R.I.D.s, So program
person A's (the boss) profile must decide where all diverts
go. Which is very rigid.

Is there anyway we can get the same functionality as we
did under v9?

Q2) Also previously under v9 you had 1 button to turn
diverts on & off. Alas in v12 if you have profiles, you
can only turn a profile on or off. But it also appears that
you can turn all profiles off & the "default" only rings
that phone.
Is there anyway we can set Profile 1 as the *default*
profile? i.e. I want the default profile to call A->B->C
(A being the person's phone) then I want the user (person A)
to press a button to goto Profile 2, which diverts calls
to B->C. Then I want to them press the same button again
and it goes back to Profile 1 (the default profile which
then calls A->B->C).

Basically what I'm getting at, is that if person A is @
their desk, it'll be one Profile 1 (the default profile)
then if they're going to lunch, they hit the Profile 2
button....when they get back from lunch, they hit Profile 2
button again & it reverts back to Profile 1. I hope this
make sense.

Sorry for the newbie/stupid questions. Damovo (Aust) says
neither can be done, but I find that very had to believe
that such basic functionality would be removed....
(or am I wrong?) Any help, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time

Cheers
Chris

Hi,
as far as I know, there was no possibility for multiple diversion in no local APS. There had been an OMR Patch package for this utility in several european countries.
This patch package has been translated to BC11, but not yet to BC12.
But in BC12, as well as in BC9 the following cenario was possible: A has automatic (time, busy) diversion to B - B has manual diversion to C.
Using RID, you can have two buttons for prof1 (on desk) and prof2 (not at desk) to switch between.
Take care: You can't jump from one extensions profile into another.

Hi

A lot of thing has changed with the new "Personal number" facility.

Anyway :

Q1 : if A is diverted to B and B is follow-me (*21*C#) to C, calls to A extensions will be forwarded to C.
BUT is B is diverted to C, calls will stay on A.

I advise you to tell to secretary to activate a FM when leaving for lunch.
Q2 : No way . You should programm a key per profile as TNS with A10AProfile number and the user has to press the right key

Hope this help
/Rorni

You could also use the "new" boss secretary function .

Syar

A sectratary has key control over the boss active
PN profile .Maakes this kind of diversion things
easier for both of them.

I'll do it simple with a copy from alx sp2 .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 General
The purpose of the feature Boss-secretary is to allow the boss and secretary to control the diversion of incoming calls for the boss telephone. While the function is active, the calls to the boss telephone will be deflected to the secretary's telephone, and the corresponding PEN key LED will indicate that the service is on for both the boss and secretary telephones.

The service can be activated/deactivated by both boss and secretaries by pressing the previously defined PEN key. When the function is active, the PEN key LED turns on at both boss and secretary telephones. When the function is inactive, the PEN key LED turns off at both the boss and secretary telephones.

2 Abbreviations
DTS Digital Telephone Set

PEN PErsonal Number key

PN Personal Number

3 Facilities
3.1 Capacity and Limitations
Both the boss and the secretaries need a DTS telephone with PEN keys.

A boss can have a maximum of 10 secretaries. A secretary can service as many bosses as the number of function keys on his/her telephone.

Personal number list 1 is used for this functionality. Hence if the Boss-secretary function is active on boss, the number of personal number lists on boss are limited to 4 (PN lists 2, 3, 4, 5).

DTS telephones with PEN key initiated as answering positions in boss PN list 1 are considered as secretaries.

When Boss-secretary function is active on boss, other PN list cannot be activated.

When Boss-secretary service is active, it can only be deactivated by pressing the PEN key on boss or secretary telephone. It cannot be deactivated by dialling a procedure, CSTA tool or I/O commands.

3.2 Activation and Deactivation
Both the boss and secretary can activate/deactivate the Boss-secretary function by pressing the previously set up PEN key.

When the function is activated, personal number functionality is initiated from the boss to the secretaries.

While the function is active, all the calls to the boss will be deflected to the secretary's telephone.

A secretary can control the calls for several bosses. The secretary will have a PEN key for each boss.

3.3 Boss-secretary service execution
When the Boss-secretary service is activated on the boss telephone and it receives an incoming call, a message is sent to the calling party and distribution of the call (using call deflection service) begins in the same way as personal number service execution.

3.4 Display information
When Boss-secretary is the highest active service on boss telephone, then the active profile number 1 will be shown on the display when in idle state and PEN key will always indicate that the service is on. If the profile 1 has a name assigned then the name of the profile 1 will be shown instead of the active profile1 (only for telephones DBC 223 and DBC 225).

When Boss-secretary service is active on secretary's telephone, PEN key LED will indicate that the service is on.

4 Hardware
There is no extra hardware for this facility.

Thanks heaps guys!

Rorni...will it follow multiple Follow-Me's?
i.e. A->div->B->FM->C->FM->D ?
(I know it's crude, but'll keep 'em happy in the short term.)

SYAR - I really appreciate your help too!
I the Boss-Secretary function looks like a good thing.
It's probably a great long term solution.
Alas Damovo(Aust) have never heard of it, so I've sent them
off exploring :) That might fix a few more problems

Again I really appreciate all your help.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris

Multiple FM won't work

BUT
If A has a div on no answer to B,
B can activate a FM on A to B (*21*A*B#)

and then activate a FM of A to C :
*21*A*C#
Also a usefull tip : If A is in FM to A, a B phone may activate a FM from A to B (*21*a*B), and B is allow to forward the call as described before.

Boss secretary enhancement is only foressen for french market.

Boss secretary enhancement is only foressen for french market."

Where do you get this information ?

Syar

Syar
in "

i have no such description in BC12 SP2 alx under france.
I believe this is generalized in sp2.

Syar

But for alx BC11 sp13 it's like you say rorni .
Though this post were about BC12 .

The idea in BC12 was to generalize several usable
market adaptions and let them be availible for all
markets .
