We are looking into upgrading our systems to CCT 5.0 as SA, and TAPI 3.0 have been discontinued by Nortel. I was wondering if anyone out there has done a similiar change.

What do you think? Like, Dislike?
What Should we watch out for?

Any advice would be appericated.

Hi.

We have implemented Nortel's Communication Control Toolkit 5 and i have done some development on using it. Very easy using it with .Net IDE (nice documentation). We are in the process of migrating to Contact Center 6 and CCT 6.

I have developed a Power Dialer (very easy) and i am now tasked with developing a Predictive Dialer.

The problem i have with it, is that CCT only "takes control" of an existing phone. Am i wrong in saying this? Could you develop your own soft phone without piggy backing on an i2050 for example? Is there a way of making calls directly from SCCS/CC/CCT with out using a physical set?

We upgraded my customer TAPI 3.0 system to CCT 5.0.
We use only pure TAPI connector without CCT features.

All work fine and stable.

Thanks for the help. We will be making the jump this fall.
