Hi All

I bit of info needed really.
I have a customer that has an IP406 DS at site A and an IP412 at site B.
They want to replace these units with IP500 V2's and use the currently installed expansion units.
Question is.....can I take the configs from these units and fire them into the IP500's without issue,or do I have to look forward to a laborious retype on each new IP500 ?

Thanks in advance

You can export users and some of the other information but pushing a 400 config to a 500 is a bad idea as it will reassign extensions in an odd way.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*

I have done this scenario in the past several times without issue (apart from the extension reassignment).

If you open the old config in manager and then send it to the new unit it will ask you to convert 412 -> 500.

Reassigning extensions is just something you have to take into account and work your way through. It's not the end of the world. Especially 412 -> 500 is a breeze because the base unit of the 412 doesn't contain any extensions anyways. If you connect the expansion units on the same ports things should be fine.

406 ofcourse contains 8x DS and 2x POTS but that's 10 extensions. Peanuts.
