I'm about to upgrade from NAV CE 8 to SAV EE 10.

The book seems sorta of confusing wen it comes to upgrading, as they throw around upgrade and migrate and i just want to make sure i'm following the correct steps.

Am I supposed to delete the security console? Is this just an Add/Remove programs delete or some other way? Am I supposed to delete anything else before inserting the CD and installing 10?
When i got ver 10 cds in the mail they sent me Enterprise Edition and CE disks, which do I install on the server and which do I install on the clients?
Since the existing environment was already in production before i got here i'm not sure how it was done. Can the new versiosn of the client be deployed? I've been setting up new clients by naviagting to the VPHOME directory in running setup from there.

Will just the CE 10 client scan for spyware or is there a seperate piece that will accomplish this?

Sorry for all the NEWB questions, i've just never rolled out an AntiVirus Client/Server solution before.

FYI- Windows Server 2003 (Running Exchange and is the Domain Controller for a domain of 70 Pcs)
Have 3 Win 2000 Servers as well.. so do they just get the client just as a workstation would or is there something seperate to do to protect the serves?

Thanks again!
- Andy

Servers can/should have the client installed on them unless the server is an antivirus server.

You need to uninstall the Symantec System Center Console before upgrading, as this component is not upgradable. Just reinstall the new versions when the upgrade is done.

You can install the client manually from the vphome directory, or you can push it out from the new version of the Symantec System Center Console using the NT Client Install feature.
