Upgrading from client 4.80.SP3.10.1 to 4.9 ZEN won't work

I have a netware 5.1 sp4 Zenworks 3.2 fd, works just fine using client 4.80.SP3.10.1, but whe I upgrade the clients to 4.83 or the latest 4.9 all the zenworks distribution or clicking on the icon's application don't work and get errors: cannot connect to the path....does anybody have seen this before and what could be the cure to fix this?. all the PC are windows 2000 sp4 with all the latest hotfixes.

What service pack level is your ZfD 3.2? Here we use Client 4.83SP1 with ZfD 3.2 SP1, works fine on all XP/2000/NT machines.
 
We don't have any service pack installed just the plain version. so what is the latest service pack out there?
actually I inherited this from a previuos Administrator.

More than likely it is your NALNTSRV that is giving you problems. Stop this service and copy nalntsrv.exe from a working PC. reboot and all should be fine
 
Hey, I ran into this just last week.. It seems that Novell left out the necessary modules in the 4.9 client. So you either have to put 4.9sp1 on or grab the files out of the \NAL folder on the 4.83 client.

We had the same issue and found that it was certain files that were installed on the Client but NWcleint 4.9 ...We used snapp shot to find the files concerned and pumped those out instead of the one used by client 4.9..We also noted these file changes and now looking at why they are older on the Server as the Server is fully patched. If you want a list of the files we found wrong let me know and i will send you ours to help...

Here are the files that we found had to be replaced due to the Public being older then the ones delivered by the new version of Client 49.

ZenPol32.dll
Nalntres.dll
Nalntsrv
nalsrvld
Zenapp32.dll
Zenpol32.dll

point to note...When you fire up Nalexpld.exe from the Server it check the server version against the PC ones..If they are different they are downloaded to the PC..It does not matter if they are newer it tries to update...All these files caused usw issues of the following;

Launcher would not open
Files would not come down and said wrong file or pointers missing.
if you used the NALNTSRV.exe in the Launcher to make the Zen operate like a Admin user then u got several error messages.

Hope the above helps...

Fyi:

We have upgraded from 4.83 to 4.9 SP1A via Launcher and have had no issues with this setup...400 machines updated in 2 days.
