Do you mean like upgrade from Version 2 to '97?
Or do you mean that you have to maintain the data in version 2 and still be able to use it in version '97?

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

hi doug

er i think i am not making myself clear- again.

i have created a database which the client has already started using. i have subsequently altered the structure of the database to include more funcionality and fixed a couple of bugs.
what i need to know is how to implement the upgrades with the minimum of hassle.

i have added relationships, fields to tables and queries.

thanks

Alex

OK, so they have existing data and you want to give them a new .MDB but when you do all of their data will be gone.

First make a backup of the old database.

I would create a set of import routines to Import their existing data into the new database. And leave the old database alone.

Did they make their own customer queries or reports? These you can import.

Also did you give them an .MDE or an .MDB
I would highly suggest you give them a .MDE so they can't tamper with or steal your work. Also its more robust.

See my FAQ's on .MDE's

What is an .MDE
<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> to make an .MDE
<A HREF=" TARGET="_new">
DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
